The MORRUT Extra virgin olive oil from the Cooperative Soldebre has won a prize in the Category Olive Oil, Bitter-fruited Virgin Olive, in the prizes awarded by the Oil Development Center (CDO)

The CDO is an entity managed by the Provincial Council of Tarragona and by the City Council of Reus, whose main objective is to be an instrument of knowledge, promotion and revaluation of the culture of the olive tree.

The CDO Awards for the best extra virgin olive oil aim to recognize and value the work well done by the producers of extra virgin olive oil of the protected designations of origin of the Ebro and Camp de Tarragona and distinguish and enhance their oils. extra virgin olive of higher quality. The Awards are delivered since 2006 in three various categories: Best Bitter-Orange Fruity Virgin Olive Oil, Best Sweet Green Fruity Virgin Olive Oil and Best Mature Fruity Virgin Olive Oil. In all three, first prize and second prize are given.

The award ceremony took place last Friday at the Palau Bofarull of Reus, in an act led by the President of the Diputació of Tarragona, Josep Poblet, and by the mayor of Reus, Carles Pellicer, among other territorial representatives and the Generalitat of Catalonia.
